Weekly Reads, Vol. 60
I've talked before about wanting to take one night away from social media each week. I haven't made it a regular practice yet, but it needs to happen. Jess at Chaotic & Collected outlines some solid ways social media can ruin your entire life.
One of the main reasons I enjoy Kati Rose's blog is for her music insights. This wee, she shared a list of artists to keep an eye (or ear) on in the coming year. Based on her knowledge and track record, I'm guessing there are some real gems in here.
Awkward is my specialty. That's why I really enjoyed Helene's post about why it's OK to be weird online. Being like everyone else won't help you stand out in the blog world -- or anywhere else, for that matter. Stay weird, friends.
Kimiko at Slice of Heaven spent some time in a DMV this week and turned her thoughts into a blog post. That's what bloggers do. No, but really, she made some great points about all the waiting we do in life. Even when we think we're on the move, there's still a lot of waiting involved. It was very thought-provoking.
Joey at Hodges Podges lost her father at the start of the new year. As she works through her grief, she could easily let that loss define 2016. But she's not. She has a magnificent outlook taking control of her year. I'll be toasting in her honor on Jan. 31.
I have lots of friends who are moms. They regularly share photos of their little ones, but I hope they're also taking plenty of photos with their children. As Madison at Espresso and Cream pointed out this week, it's important for mommas to get in front of the camera to capture those memories the children will treasure later.
Enjoy your Saturday!
