WLJ: Methods amidst madness

I'm happy with what I saw on the scale today.  Even though I didn't closely monitor my points over the weekend (when I was out of town for Father's Day), I still did pretty well.  I suppose it helps that I walked for several hours on Friday night/Saturday morning as part of Relay For Life (16 activity points in all).  I've also added some more vitamins to my regimen, and I think that's helping.

Summer is a busy time for me.  Especially this summer.  I have a lot of plans to travel and get out of town.  Learning how to work around this is going to be very important.  Right now, I have a goal of being active for at least 30 minutes each day.  I know that's not going to happen on Thursday (because of my plans), so I'm going to compensate for that another day this week.  Now, this doesn't mean 30 minutes of strenuous exercise every day. Yes, I plan to push myself three or four times a week, but sometimes a walk or a little yoga on the Wii Fit will be just fine.

Speaking of the Wii, I test drove the Zumba game for it this past week thanks to Game Fly.  It's so much fun!!  It feels a lot like the class I took with my friends in the Twin Cities a few weeks ago, and since it's in my home, I don't feel quite so self-conscious.  I think I got a better workout as a result.  I'm definitely going to be buying this game soon.  To me, it felt like fun rather than exercise, and I need something like that on days when the weather isn't conducive to going out for a run and yet I just don't want to listen to Jillian Michaels.

I'm feeling very motivated and determined this week.  It's going to be a good one.

  1. Yay progress! Every little bit helps! It's going to be hard for me this summer too. Traveling always equals going out to yummy resturants. *sigh*
