Good news -- I didn't gain any weight this week.
Bad news -- I didn't lose any weight this week.
I've been stuck at about the same weight for a few weeks now. It's probably because I haven't been super strict with myself. Maybe. I really haven't been that bad. I most certainly went over my weekly points a few weeks ago when I went on vacation. But other than that, I've been staying with or under them. So maybe I have hit a dreaded plateau. That's what caused me to give up last time, and I'll be honest, that has crossed my mind a few times in the last week or so. Maybe I should just accept what I am (which isn't that bad) and get on with life.
But that's not what I want.
I want to be healthier. I want to look better. I want to feel better.
I don't want to give up.
But how do I move forward from here? How do I surge past this plateau? I have a few ideas (give up pop again, step up my workouts and do a better job with breakfast). I welcome any tips, suggestions and encouragement.
I'm very frustrated ... with a lot of things, but I seem to be channeling it here.
Weight-loss goal: 40 lbs.
This week's progress: +/- 0
Progress to date: -5.6 lbs.
I'd check to see how carbs you're eating a day. With PCOS you really shouldn't have much more than 200 to 225 grams of carbs a day (less than it sounds). Also, just keep at it. I had a year-long plateau in 2010. Then I had a little one in June of this year, I got through both of them...eventually :S
ReplyDeleteI was hoping to avoid counting carbs, but you may be right. :( I really think giving up all soda is going to be key for me too. Even diet soda is said to play a role in the body retaining/gaining weight.
