"If I should have a daughter ..."

The poem in the first four minutes of this is worth the click.  

I promise.

I'm off to spend the weekend with my mom.  

She's amazing and one of my best friends.

Over time, I've learned that she actually knows what she's talking about.

I wish I'd realized that sooner. Might have saved me some mistakes.

Then again, she's always encouraged me to do my own thing,

Even if that means making a mistake.

When I become a mom (and I will someday ... one way or another), 

I hope I can be to my kid(s) what she's been to me.
