What I'm Loving Wednesday

We're halfway to a three-day weekend.  Yay!!  I cannot wait.  I have some good times planned for Saturday and Sunday, with relaxation planned for Monday.  Yes, I have to plan relaxation.  And then try to stick to that plan. Not easy for me.

I'm loving ...

... that I was able to fix my washing machine with just a few calls to Mom and minimal tears.

On Saturday, I put my bedding in the washer and started it. A short while later, I heard silence and thought that was odd.  No way was it done. Well, the laundry wasn't, but the washer was. I cried a little, made a few frantic calls, some google searches (the internet solves all, right?), then resorted to pulling the clothes out and bailing out the water. Then, and only then, did the washer decide to work again. Whew. But I wish it could have saved me some of the drama.

... the buffalo wings I made at home on Saturday.

I was craving them, but didn't want to order out (too expensive, and I didn't feel like going anywhere).  I improvised with frozen wings and Frank's Hot Sauce at home.  So much better than any I've ever bought at any restaurant.  I had to wait a little longer (about an hour), but it was worth it.  No more ordering wings for me.  

... that I hit a huge milestone in my weight-loss journey yesterday.

I'm officially down 25 lbs. from April 2011.  Only 15 lbs. more until I reach my goal. It's been a slower process than I'd like, but I honestly think this will make it easier to maintain.  Slow and steady.

... the new season of "Tough Love." 

I had four episodes stored on my DVR and I FINALLY got to them over the weekend.  I enjoy Steve's advice and watching the women evolve (or not, in some cases) over the course of the season.  This year, they're in New Orleans, so seeing some of that city is pretty fun too.  I remember being there in 2001 for a college media conference.  Good times.

...  the jewelry I bought on Etsy to wear to an upcoming wedding.

I'll share it soon.  I had such a great experience with the seller that I'm going to brag all over her in an upcoming post.  She really went above and beyond to make sure I got what I wanted.

I need to post this somewhere in my house so I see it everyday. I tend to want everyone to like me and be as nice to me as I am to them.  I'm learning -- the hard way -- that it is impossible to make everyone like me.  All I can do is be myself, and they either will or won't.  And if they don't, it's likely nothing to do with me and everything to do with them.  I wish I could say I'll stop being nice to those who don't deserve it, but ... that's just not my style.  I'll keep being nice, but I need to learn how to not let myself be a doormat or a punching bag. Working on it.
