WLJ: Setting Goals & Mean Abs June

My birthday  is about six weeks away.  At one point, I wanted to be to my goal weight by then, but with 15 lbs. to go and the rate I'm going, I know that's not realistic.  I'm actually hoping to lose six pounds by then, but I've found I'm more successful at working toward my long-term goal if my short-term goals are not scale-centered.  Instead, I try to focus on things I can control -- my activity, my tracking, etc.  So, with that in mind, here are my goals for the next six weeks.

- Track WW points five out of seven days.
- Get at least 10K steps per day.
- Run at least 10 miles each week.
-  Find a strength workout to do at home.

That first one is huge.  I've been pretty bad about tracking lately, and that's going to catch up with me at some point.  The other two are very important too, especially since my Tuesday/Thursday boot camp-style classes have been cancelled due to low attendance.  I still love my Zumba a few times a week, but I really need to find something to tone and build some muscle.  My arms are among my biggest trouble spots, but I definitely don't want to leave any muscle group out. Anyone have a strength workout you like?

And, since it's a new month, it's time for a new fitness challenge.  I was not very diligent about the Rangers Workout Challenge I created in May.  I skipped quite a few days, and I was easily discouraged when I saw some of the numbers of repetitions.

Celia posted about Mean Abs June last week, and I decided I'd get in on it.

So far, I'm hanging in there, but I'm a little nervous about the end of the month. Then again, I was intimidated by the Couch 2 5K program, and I completed that (after two tries).  Maybe I'll be OK as long as I build toward those numbers.  We'll see!

Weight-loss goal: 40 lbs.
This week's progress: +/- 0 lbs.
Progress to date: -25 lbs.
Non-scale victory:  Two years ago, I bought a t-shirt from Todd Carey (one of my favorite music boys).  I loved the color and design, but he only had one size available.  And it was a few sizes too small for me.  But I bought it anyway.  On Saturday, I pulled the shirt on and it fit perfectly.  Such a thrill!!

  1. I absolutely love the cardio strength videos by Bob Harper from the Biggest Loser. https://www.mytrainerbob.com/store/home.php?cat=251
I have the Inside Out Strength class and the 2 Kettle Bell classes. I swear to you I sweat just as much as I do in my Nike Training Club at the gym and I push myself so hard. They are only $5.00 each so it isn't a massive investment. The bigger investment is buying a set of weights or kettles.
