It's OK Thursday

Its Ok Thursdays

It's OK ...

... to incessantly plug my new novel, Riffs of Regret.
I'm sure people are getting tired of hearing about it.
But I self-published, so the marketing is on me.
Beyond that, I'm really proud of it.
I'm so excited, I'm offering a copy in a giveaway.

\\\\////

... that my book release has been the only bright spot in my week.
I don't even care if no one else is excited about it.
I guess if you unfollow/block/hide me, so be it.
I'll go on living.

\\\\////

... to get Chinese food after a bad day.
I guess that's one of my comfort foods.
Tuesday was just not enjoyable.  By any stretch.
Crab rangoon just sounded good.

\\\\////

... to throw myself a pity party every now and then.
When life gets rough, OK to let myself wallow in self-pity for a little while.
But only for a little while.
There are other people with way bigger problems.

\\\\////

... to offer help people even when they don't ask for it.
If I see someone wants to do something I have some knowledge in,
I'm not afraid to say, "I think you can do it. What can I do to help you?"
Even if they refuse the help, at least I offered.

\\\\////

... to be sad my date for Saturday cancelled on me.
Family things came up. At least he gave me notice.
Because of the distance between us, weekends are our only option.
Neither of us has a free weekend again until the end of October.Ah well ... everything happens for a reason, right?

\\\\////

... that I forget what life was like before Facebook and Twitter.
Honestly, how did I keep up with friends who live far away?
How did I find new random people to talk to?
How did I watch Rangers games without Twitter?
Even when it frustrates me, I still rely really heavily on social media.

\\\\////

... that my baseball heart is very unsettled this time of year.
For the third year in a row, my beloved Texas Rangers are headed to the postseason.
As fun as that is, it's also very nerve-wracking.
The expectations grow a little each year.
I want it all this year, boys.

What's OK with you this week?

  1. I totally understand the pity party thing! This week has been rough! But thankfully this week is nearly at an end and you can kiss it goodbye! Congratulations on your book release as well! That's super exciting and there is nothing wrong about being SUPER DUPER excited about it! :)

  3. Chinese food after a bad day is always a good choice. I am such a comfort eater! Example: I just ate a huge Chipotle burrito bowl after a long day! Thanks for stopping by!

  4. Chinese is always good after a bad day- especially crab rangoons- yum! Also- it's MORE than okay to promote your new novel! I mean really, how many people can even do that?! I think it's awesome :)
