Music Monday: Will Hoge

Let me start by saying that this post is way overdue.  I've been a fan of Will Hoge's music for several years now, and I'm ashamed that I haven't written about him in this space yet.  I guess I had to wait until he got his first Country Music Association nomination. That happened last week, thanks to Eli Young Band recording Hoge's tune, "Even If It Breaks Your Heart" for their latest record.  It's an amazing song no matter who is singing it, but I'd be lying if I didn't say I prefer Will's version.

Honestly, I just love the grit and soul in his voice.  It adds something to the song (and everything he sings).  Or maybe I'm just biased because it's the version I heard first. (This is no slight to EYB. I adore them too.)
