WLJ: No regrets

There are days I don't feel like working out.
I'd rather sit down at my computer and catch up with friends or see what's waiting for me on my DVR.
But most of the time, I don't give into that.
I give myself a few days off each week (which I think the body needs), but try to stay on track.
When I get home from work, I immediately change into my workout clothes and head out.
I do not check e-mail.
I do not open mail.
I do not pass go or collect $200.
(That would be awesome though.)

There are days I want to eat more than my Weight Watchers plan allows.
I want pizza.  I want macaroni and cheese.  I want cupcakes.  I want wine and beer.  I want fries.
But most of the time, I don't give into that.
Every now and then, I let myself have a treat, but I try really hard to stick to my points.
And I often settle for healthier alternatives to most of those foods.
Tortilla pizza, skinny cupcakes, one glass of wine, one low carb beer.
I'm still searching for a low carb/low point version of mac and cheese.
(Can anyone help there?)

Sometimes, I make good decisions.
Sometimes, I make bad decisions.
But I try to approach my weight-loss journey like I do the rest of my life -- minimize the regrets.
I'm not perfect, and I'll never be, but I can still be a pretty great version of me.
That's what I'm working toward.

Weight-loss goal: 40 lbs.
This week's progress: +0.6
Progress to date: -32.6 lbs.
Non-scale victory: Last night, my brain wanted to run, but my body really just wanted to relax.  I decided to compromise and run 20 minutes instead of my usual 35-40.  It would have been so easy to just stay on the couch instead of hitting the trail, but I'm glad I didn't.

  2. Does your grocery store carry Dreamfields pasta, Micah? I use that or whole grain pasta...the Dreamfields is way lower in digestible carbs than white pasta.

  6. Inspiring as always!
Here's my favorite, not-too-awful for you mac and cheese. You could use whole wheat noodles OR those noodles that are made of vegetables (I love them).
