Cleo takes over the blog

Hi there, blog world.

My human has been kind of busy lately, so I decided to help her out by taking care of today's post.

I'm sure you all know me. My human takes lots of photos of me (I'm terribly photogenic), and I've appeared on this blog and Instagram a lot. But in case you're new, or skimmed over those darling photos of me (how dare you!), my name is Cleo.

I met Micah a little over ten years ago when she came to a rescue organization in Texas to look at another cat. Heh. I didn't let her get very far.  When she walked by my cage, I stuck my paw out and got her attention.  Next thing I knew, my foster mommy was crying tears of joy as Micah loaded me up to take me home.  Even though I'd obviously claimed her, I wasn't so sure at first.  I mean, she didn't want to play with me when she got home from work.  Sure, it was 2 a.m. (or so she told me), but I wanted to play!  Apparently, she thought this was an invitation for her to bring home another cat.

So this is my roommate, Casey.

Yeah, I'm prettier, right?
Right.

I tried to scare this new cat off, but she's been around for almost ten years, so I don't think she's going anywhere.  My human reminds me of that often and keeps referring to Casey as my sister. We don't look anything alike though, so I refuse to accept that I'm related to that furball.  But I do make sure Casey knows I'm the boss around here.  I get first dibs on the human's lap, sleeping places, food, toys and everything else.  When Casey tries to edge in, I slap her across the face.  Yeah, I told you I'm the boss.

Even with this unwanted roommate, I suppose I have a pretty good life.  My human has moved us eight times, including one really long car ride from Texas to Iowa.  I don't like riding in the car, especially when the human sings along with the radio.  She actually sings around the house too, and I don't enjoy that either.  I've tried leaving the room and slapping her to let her know, but it hasn't stopped her yet.  If any of you have any advice, please send it.  But really, my human is pretty cool ... if I overlook the singing, her friends who tell me I'm fat, all the time she spends on the computer and the long periods of time she leaves us to go to some place called "work."  She tells Casey and me often how lucky she is to have us even though we're "ornery bitches."  I don't know what that means.  Is it a bad thing? She usually calls us that when we wake her up by making noise in her room.  For some reason, she doesn't like that.  But, damn it, we need food.  Waiting another hour or two would just be torture. Torture, I tell you.

Anyhow ... I'm getting bored with this blogging thing (how does my human spend so much time on here?), so it's time for me to make the most important decision of the day -- where to nap next.

I'm pretty cute when I sleep, huh?
What am I saying? I look fabulous all the time.

Make sure you tell my human that in a comment.  She needs to be reminded sometimes. Maybe she'll stay home more often.

  3. Cleo-- advice on getting human to comply with your demands-- use your fangs! My cat gets everything he wants when he bites me.

But, uh, also....be sweet and nap.

  4. Cleo, I'm sure Gypsy the Feline Dictator would agree with you about having a "roommate". I'm pretty sure if I brought another cat into the house she'd actually go ahead with those plans for world domination she's always rattling on about.
