I'm responsible for me

I feel so blah lately.

And I know it's my own fault.

My eating habits are terrible.  I haven't made time for grocery shopping and meal planning in weeks, which usually results in some poor food decisions.  We're talking quite a bit of fast food and takeout.  Terrible.

My workout routine is broken.  Sure, I finished the #1800minutechallenge, but I basically coasted at the end.  I should have reached the 1800-minute mark way earlier.  I miss getting a good sweat and the ache that comes after really testing my muscles and body.

As a result, my body feels gross and my emotions are a mess.  Complete mess.  Oh, and clothes that fit me just fine a year ago are getting really snug. 

I need to change this. 

Sooner rather than later.

On Monday, I am starting a 28-day clean eating challenge. Now, I'm not foolish enough to think there won't be some days when I splurge.  (I can already think of a few.)  But, I figure even if I have seven splurge days in there, I'll still have 21 clean eating days ... which is way more than I'm doing now. 

In addition to eating better, I plan to get back into some better workout habits as well.  I mentioned my weekly schedule last week and while I will probably take some rest days, I like having that list to show I had an option for a workout every single day of the week.  No excuses.  Especially now that the weather is nice.  And I have a gym membership for days when the weather isn't so nice.

It's time to get back to taking care of myself.  Because no one's going to do it for me.

Friday: Off.
Saturday: Zumba (60 mins.) + walked the Glow Run 5K (60 mins.)
Sunday: Off.
Monday: Off.
Tuesday: Jillian Michaels 30-Day Shred (23 mins.)
Wednesday: Off.
Thursday:  Jillian Michaels 30-Day Shred (23 mins.)

Not my greatest week of workouts, but it was awesome to get back to Zumba. 



  1. Routines are hard. Hard to get into, hard to get out of, and change is difficult! I wish I had an easy answer for you. We all struggle with this one :/

  2. I'm going to e-mail you some tips for clean eating and easy go-to meals like you asked!!! Doing it now :) You can totally do it and we can help each other! :)

  3. That's great! I am trying to eat much better. I definitely notice how much better I feel on the days when I eat better. Working out is kind of a different story...
