Feeling lazy

You might have noticed there's been no Fitness Friday post from me for a few weeks.  Or maybe you didn't.  Either way, they haven't been here.

Why?  Well, not only have I been too busy to blog, but there has been no fitness to blog about.

That's right.  I haven't done a solid workout in more than three weeks.

Lame.

To be honest, I have no good excuse for not working out.  I could say I'm busy, but let's be real -- we're all busy, but we find time for the things we want to do.  I've had time to read several books.  Clearly, I could have found time for a run, a ride, or some other form of exercise.  But I didn't.  Lame.  And I'm not happy with myself.

But I'm also not going to beat myself up or dwell on it.  That's no way to make progress.

Instead, I just have to move forward and make my workouts a priority.

Starting today. Why wait until Monday?  I went ahead and got back on the horse today with a 1.5-mile run this morning.  I had planned on a longer run, but I had a really hard time getting out of bed in time for that.

And since I have no workouts behind me, I'll make a plan for next week.

+++++

Next week's workouts
Saturday: 20-mile bike ride
Sunday: 3-mile run + core
Monday: Spin class
Tuesday: 3-mile run + arms
Wednesday: Spin class
Thursday: 3-mile run
Friday: Off

+++++

How do you get back on track?

  2. Kudos to you for making a schedule!
    I'm trying to do a couple of classes a week. I had plans to continue with the kettle bell class this week, but then I did something to my back, and so yoga was all I could manage today.
    Making a plan and sticking to it is the key. I carry the class schedule in my planner.

  3. i haven't worked out in about two weeks--the longest drought in a LONG time. But I figured I needed a break before I get back into it.

  4. I have gotten into plenty of fitness funks, but you are right--just gotta get back up and start! It's tough but it's doable. Just know that if you don't get every single workout done next week that it's not a bad thing--I always tried to push myself and would get burnt out trying to do everything again. Little by little things will come back!
