I know this letter is going out late, but I tend to think deliveries to the North Pole get high priority this time of year. Plus, I'm still a journalist at heart, so I like the drama of barely making the deadline. You probably know that about me by now.
Anyhow. I believe I've been a pretty good girl this year. I paid down some of my debt. I kept up with most of my bills. I drank a lot of beer -- but it was good beer, so I think I get a pass on that. I was really good about my fitness most of the time. I had a lot of rejection and while I definitely threw myself a pity party for each instance, I haven't completely built a wall around myself. Yet.
All that said, I don't need anything for Christmas. I already have a fantastic family, awesome friends, ornery but lovable furkids, two jobs I enjoy, and hobbies to feed my passions. I'm not sure what else could fit in my life, honestly.
But I know you need something to work with so, I'll provide you with a short list of "wants":
:: A new iPod.
My current Nano only holds 8GB. That's plenty for running, but I also use it to block out extraneous noise at work, and 8GB just doesn't feel like enough these days.
:: Vera Wang Rock Princess perfume.
It's my favorite, and I'm kicking myself for not buying it in bulk because I cannot find this stuff anywhere. I figure you might have some connections.
:: Workout clothes.
Mostly pants and sports bras really. I'm fine wearing old tshirts on top, although I am fond of some of the fun fitness tanks on this Pinterest board.
:: Coffee.
You cannot go wrong with this gift. I drink it daily and usually bring my own to work because I don't like the coffee in the office. The darker the roast, the better.
See? I really don't want much. You'll notice I didn't ask for any books or beer (even though I love them). That's because I'm kind of picky about my beer, plus I tend to only really drink socially. And working in a library gives me access to lots of books, so I'm good on that front.
Safe travels, Santa!!
(P.S. My furkids would like a cat tree. Or at least I would like one for them.)
it sounds like you've been a totally good girl, I hope Santa listens and hooks you up. Man, I wish Santa really existed, there are some things I'd want that I'd love if they could magically appear under my tree. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteOh and I totally want a cat tree for Bay. Not sure if she'd use it though. She loves to be under the blankets these days.
I agree on the coffee. You can't go wrong with that gift. What's your favorite to buy? We like Trader Joe's…
ReplyDeleteI think this sounds like a fun AND practical list! I hope Santa hooks you up! :)
