This & That 7/6

:: Last Friday, we went to see Ed Sheeran in concert. It was my second time seeing Ed live and Sean's first. It was a fantastic experience. We both had a great time.

:: I don't like holidays that fall in the middle of the week (i.e. July 4th this year). It really messes up the rest of the week for me. I worked Monday, had Tuesday off, and was back the rest of the week. It just felt weird all the way around.

:: I'm doing the running portion of a triathalon on Sunday. I've already warned my teammates that I am not fast. Fortunately, they seem to be OK with that. I'm still nervous though. I'm used to my races just being for me and for fun. This is a whole new level of pressure. Oh, and I'm doing a 5K the following Saturday too.  Oops.

:: Sean and I worked on adding things to our wedding registry over the weekend. It's so weird asking people to buy us things. And I have no idea how many items is enough. I'm assuming one per two guests or so. Any advice?
BTW, alcohol is totally on our wedding registry.

:: My birthday is coming up in a few weeks. Usually I get very excited about that day, week, month. This year, I'm just feeling blah about it so far. Hopefully I'll start feeling more festive about it soon.

  1. I hated that the 4th was on Tuesday. My week had TWO Mondays!!

  2. Don't worry about having a certain number of items on your registry. Scott & I had been living together for 4 years before we got married. So it's not like we really NEEDED a lot. What we did was register for things we wanted and were able to upgrade some of our cheap things that we bought because they were needed. For example, we got a better toaster and electric can opener. If you don't have "enough" for all of your guests, they can get you gift cards or cash. Most registries also give you a discount when you buy things from your registry that people didn't buy for you.

  3. I really want to see Ed Sheeran in concert. I'll have to watch out for him to come back here.

  4. I saw Ed open for Taylor and had only ever heard (and really liked) The A Team. He blew me away! I downloaded his album the very next day and have been a fan since. I'm going to see him later this month. Can't wait!

  5. I think that's about right for the registry! I mostly got gifts for the shower and then people just gave money for the wedding. I know it feels weird to ask for stuff for yourself but I'm always so happy when a couple has a registry! That way I know she will love the shower gift!
