I'm an Iowa girl by birth and by choice. I was raised in a small town (population: 100 ... I'm not kidding).
After college, I left my home state for four years, testing the waters in Texas. While there, I learned a lot about myself, met some awesome people, and fell in love with baseball. Even though I'm back in Iowa, the Texas Rangers still have my baseball heart.
If my life had a soundtrack, it would be a very eclectic one. I love all kinds of music and have been to more than 150 concerts and shows. The guys/gals with guitars and pianos win me over the easiest, and I wish I could make a living as a professional merch girl.
Writing comes second nature to me -- if I'm not writing, I'm thinking about what I'll be writing next. Some of it emerges on this blog, some of it is poured onto my baseball blog, and some of it goes into my fictional works. I have self-published three novels so far -- You'll Never Know, A Promise Worth Breaking, and Riffs of Regrets.
My family is a huge part of the reason I moved back to Iowa, and I spend a lot of time with them. Fortunately, my parents and brother all live just 40 minutes from me.
I absolutely love life in Iowa's capital city, where I can enjoy all of my interests -- baseball (it's minor league and not the Rangers, but I'll take it), live music, and craft beer. You'll find a lot of that on my blog as well as my adventures with friends and in the dating world.
