Day 17 -- A book you’ve read that changed your views on something.
Oh man. I love reading, and I've read a pretty wide variety of books, some of which have changed my life. "The Ryan White Story," "A Child Called It," "My Sister's Keeper" and "You Didn't Complete Me" each moved me in a different way. I learned so much from all of those books.
But there was one book I read last year that affected me so deeply that it has been deemed an annual must-read for me. I'm talking about "The Shack" by William P. Young. Friends had been recommending it to me for a few years before I finally got my hands on a copy and actually opened it. Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down.
The story is incredible and captivating. I was fascinated by Mack's journey to find answers after his daughter was abducted and brutally murdered. Hopefully, none of us have to deal with anything that tragic, but I think it's safe to say we have all faced times that tested our spirit and our faith.
Without being preachy, this really made me think about my own spiritual beliefs and relationship with God. Whether you're a devout believer or a non-believer, I would recommend this book to anyone. It's not at all what you would expect.
This is "my book" too! Absolutely amazing!
