One girl's cast-off could be my dream date

Confession:  I watch "The Bachelorette" (and "The Bachelor").  And I enjoy it.

I feel better now that I've admitted that public.  My friends are well aware of my penchant for reality shows.  I've watched almost all of them at least once -- "Real World," "Survivor," "Big Brother," "Bachelor/Bachelorette," "American Idol," "Dancing With the Stars," "The Amazing Race," etc.  I've lost interest in a few of them, but "Big Brother" and "The Bachelor/Bachelorette" are holding strong.

This season's "Bachelorette" is not everyone's favorite.  I think she's cute and fun, and I think she's made some good choices on the show (as well as some really bad ones).  One of her cast-offs last week was my favorite this season.

Chris D.  A sports marketing specialist from Moline, Ill. who admires Barack Obama and once camped out all night for Rose Bowl tickets.

Do you hear that fluttering noise?  That's my heart.

I absolutely adored him, and I wasn't all that upset or surprised when Ashley let him go.  They didn't really seem to have much of a connection, and she didn't really spend much time getting to know him either.

So I guess he's free now, right?  And only about an eight hour drive away.  He'd make an awfully nice birthday present.  Just one date would make me happy.  Can anyone make that happen?  You have more than a month (July 20 is the day) to make arrangements, so get on it.  And make sure he wears something blue.

I guess if this isn't possible, I'd settle for another Illinois treasure -- a deep dish pizza from Lou Malnati's. You can have them shipped in dry ice for a fee.  Amazing.
