I'm going to be doing a DIY project this weekend to chronicle for a future guest post on a friend's blog (stay tuned!), so I've been scouring Pinterest for ideas. I couldn't decide if I was going to make some kind of wall hanging for inside my front door or re-do my dresser (which was a garage sale find and matches NOTHING in my bedroom). The dresser won out, but I haven't completely decided what I'm going to do. Thank goodness for Pinterest.
Here are a few of the inspirations (pinspirations?) I liked:
The wide two-tone stripes are classic and still interesting.
\\\\////
Supercute, but I don't know if I have the patience.
\\\\////
Again, this would take some patience, but I like it.
\\\\////
I love this, but it wouldn't match anything in my bedroom.
\\\\////
Oh, if only I was creative.
\\\\////
Simple, but still really interesting. The bottom is metal on this one, but I could probably use a stencil or something.
\\\\////
Love the idea of painting the sideboards and the inside. I may actually do this.
\\\\////
I'm looking forward to doing this project, although I may not be so enthusiastic while I'm sanding it and waiting between coats of paint. I'll share the results in a few weeks when I complete the post for my friend's blog.
Oh, and someday, I'm totally doing this dresser for my kid --- whether it's a girl or a boy:
The first two i really like. always said i was going to try such a project, still saying it. one day perhaps.

OMG, I am so doing that dresser for my sports room. I have an old black dresser and I have been trying to figure out how to make it baseball like....THAT is perfect. Thanks Micah!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the baseball dresser...OH SO MUCH!! :)
ReplyDeleteI also like the idea of painting the inside/sides of the drawer. I like the paper they have on the bottom- that's cute!!
:)
Wow...those dressers are so neat! Those would be very far off "someday things" if I decide to try it. :)
ReplyDelete***Stopping by from the hop, have a great day!
I definitely like the idea of sprucing up boring dressers, I just need the motivation to get on it! lol Stop by and say hi sometime!

I can't wait to see what you end up doing with your dresser. I have two of them that I need to re-do, but can't decide what I want to do to them.
