WLJ: Pay it forward

In the last few weeks, I've had a lot of people tell me I've inspired them.  That my success has motivated them to get moving and get healthier.  I even had one person tell me I should write a book about what I've learned during all of this.  I wouldn't go that far, but I'm glad I can inspire people. It's touching, really, and I can relate.  A little over a year ago, I needed my own inspiration and motivation.  My friend, Jaci, provided that.  I saw how hard she had worked and the resulting success.  I knew I could do it too.

And I did it.

And I am still doing it. That's right, I'm still going.  And I will keep going even after I reach my goal weight. I'm not on a diet.  I've adopted new habits and a new lifestyle.

Now, people are asking me for advice and encouragement. I am happy to oblige on both counts.

If you want to know what all I've done, I'll refer you to my anniversary post.

If you want/need encouragement, please don't hesitate to hit me up on facebook, e-mail or on twitter.  I strongly believe that a support system is one of the keys.  I've been frustrated.  I've had setbacks. I needed to lean on someone at some point too.  I needed a cheerleader to remind me of how strong I am.  And now I'm ready to pay it forward.

Weight-loss goal: 40 lbs.
This week's progress: +/- 0 lbs.
Progress to date: -30 lbs.
Non-scale victory: On Monday, I was still recovering from a busy weekend. I was hesitant to go for a walk.  I finally convinced myself to get out the door, saying I had to walk for at least 30 minutes.  I ended up walking for almost 90 minutes.  And I covered five miles in that time.

  2. I have loved reading your blog! Definitely inspiration for me.

Good for you for getting out there and walking! When I don't feel like running, I will force myself to go to the gym and get on the treadmill, and tell myself to just walk for 15 minutes. If I get there, and only walk for 15 minutes, well at least I did something, but 9 times out of 10, I'll actually start running and get my groove on and work up a sweat. I can remember one time where I actually walked out of the gym after just 15 minutes.
