Meet Jasper!

Yes, this is Jasper.

Is it weird to name inanimate object?
Yes?  Oh.
Well, then I guess I shouldn't tell you that my car and my iPod also have names.

Anyhow, Jasper is my newest friend.

He came to me after my Dell gave me the blue screen of death.  The hard drive has since been rescued (thanks Kevin!), but after six years of tiring work and abuse, it was probably time for my Dell to retire.  Or at least take on much lighter duties.  I haven't decided what I'll do with him.  (He did not have a name, by the way.)

Once I decided my new MacBook Pro was indeed male, I had to choose a name.  I decided on Jasper.  It just came to me.  And, really, it's perfect, because some of my favorite wines come from the Jasper Winery.

One of the first things I did for Jasper was order him some accessories -- namely, a hard case and a keyboard cover.  He needs protection from me as I can be rough on my belongings.  What can I say?  I'm a little clumsy.  Plus, I think he likes dressing up a little.

I decided on a royal Rangers blue case immediately, but debated for a while about the keyboard cover.  But this is what he ended up with:

I think this means he's gay on the inside.

And that's perfectly alright with me.
