Review: May CurlKit

I have two beauty weaknesses -- nail polish and hair products.

I am always looking for the best products for my naturally curly hair.  I don't mind spending a little more if I'm sure it's going to help my hair look its best.  But there's nothing I hate more than buying something only to hate it after one or two tries.

With all of these subscription boxes floating around, I knew there had to be one for hair -- especially curly hair.  I did some digging (re: asked Twitter for assistance), and lo and behold, I found a some!  I researched the boxes, reading reviews, and finally settled on the CurlKit.  It seemed to get the best reviews and be the best bang for the buck.

My first CurlKit arrived a few days later.

Inside:

Giovani Tea Tree Treat Invigorating Shampoo & Conditioner
I loved the smell of this, and it made my scalp feel really good.  I'm sure it's not cheap stuff, but it might be nice to have around for a night when I really want to spoil my hair.

ORI Essentials Cleansing Conditioner
I've been interested in cleansing conditioners for a while.  I liked the smell of this one, and it definitely made my hair clean and moisturized.  It didn't blow me away though.

Nyah Oatmeal and Honey Natural Soap
I don't use bar soap very often, but I'd make an exception for this soap. It smells so yummy!

U R Curly Loose Curl Enhancer
I really wanted to like this product.  But I didn't.  It was really thick and heavy, and it did nothing for my curls.

Satin triangle scarf
I wasn't sure about this scarf at first.  I know satin is good for keeping moisture in curls (which is why I have satin pillowcases).  I suppose this might be a good option when I'm traveling.

Yum Yum Candle in Limoncello
It smells good, but I'm not sure why it was included in this box.  It seems a little random to me.

  1. Ooooh fun! I used to use that tea tree shampoo and conditioner, until I heard tea tree is bad for cats (and my cat loves to jump into the shower and lick up leftover water).
