Poor Desiree

I think this has been the most boring season of "The Bachelorette" I've seen so far.  And I've watched them all.

I don't watch this show because I believe it's any form of fairytale, nor do I think it's very real.  I tune in because I think it's an interesting look at people and social behaviors.  I watch to be entertained, and so far this season, there hasn't been much of that.

This is not Desiree's fault. She's absolutely gorgeous, and she's a very sweet girl.  Maybe she's too sweet.  Maybe that's the problem.  I don't know. She's actually been very smart so far. She didn't keep guys around if she had doubts about them, and she wasn't afraid to call them out on things either.  I respect her for that.  But it's still been a pretty boring season.

I choose to blame ABC, who has assembled the biggest collection of blah guys as they can find.

Don't get me wrong -- there are some good looking guys in there, but most of them have very flat personalities. No wonder there are no sparks.  I don't think I could get excited about any of them either.  Poor Desiree.

Chris is the one who has come closest to winning me over.

Anyway ...

All that said, I don't think I'd do any better in Desiree's shoes than she has. In fact, I have no desire to try.  Let me point you to a post I wrote two years ago that will explain it all -- "I could not, would not be on 'The Bachelorette.'"
