Friday's Letters
Dear Nicole and Troy,
Thank you for hosting an awesome wedding last weekend. It was beautiful, personal, and a lot of fun. I hope you're enjoying your week away from real life and wish you all the best in your future together.
Dear Kathleen, Julie, Mandy, Nicole, Jenny, and Kristi,
Do we really only need to all get together when someone gets married? Come on now!
Dear noisy co-workers,
I'm so glad you're having fun, but when your conversation is rarely about work and always at an elevated volume, it's hard for the people around you to focus on their work. It's also not such great background noise when I'm on an important phone call. You have been shushed numerous times and yet you don't seem to get the message. I'm this close to escalating the issue. Please don't make me be a tattle.
Dear managing group,
I hope you don't mind that I call you the Frat Pack. It's not meant to be a negative. It just seems to suit you.
Dear work director-turned-manager,
Congrats on the birth of your first baby. I hope you get to enjoy time with him. But please come back soon. The Frat Pack seems a little off-balance without you. Plus, you understand my work capabilities better than they do. I never have downtime when you're around.
Dear cauliflower,
Why do you turn brown so fast? I barely have time to enjoy you.
Dear BodyPump class,
It's not you, it's me. I'm sorry we have to take a break while I'm working some extra hours to make some extra money. I really miss you, and I'll try to come back soon.
Dear running,
I miss you a lot too. Once I get used to these 54-hour work weeks, I'll start squeezing in time for you again.
Dear Matt Nathanson,
I'm pretty excited to see you tonight. I'm even willing to give Train a chance to win me over. That's how glad I am to see you live again.
Dear gorgeous August weather,
Please stay a while longer. I am thoroughly enjoying being able to leave my windows open each night and waking up chilled ... even though that makes it extra hard to get up at 5:30 a.m.
Dear coffee and Elvis Duran,
I would not make it through my mornings without you.
Dear Tim Stop,
I am loving the new EP. You know I bought it on iTunes as well as through your store, right? I don't remember the last time I only bought one copy of one of your albums. But anyway. The new work is fabulous! I only wish it was longer, but I know recording an album is neither simple nor cheap. You've worked hard on this, and I'll take every bit of new music --- no matter the size of the dose. Oh, and "Open Road" may be my new personal anthem.
I absolutely love it and cannot get enough of it. The second verse pretty much seals the deal --
There's a saying that goes something like,
'You regret the things you didn't do.'
And after all the times I've messed up,
I'm thinking that it must be true.
Because I cared too much about what people think,
And it kept me inside my shell.
But the people that like me like me anyway
And everybody else can go to hell.
Word, brother. Word.
Hope you all have a fabulous weekend. I know I will!

It took until 2010-ish for me to like anything Train did. I like their "ways to say good-bye" song the best. :) Have fun!
