The worst parts of me

[pin]
Last week I shared with you a list of my dateable characteristics as composed by my friends.  I thought it was only fair if I followed up with a list of things that make me annoying at best and hard to love at worst.

:: I'm emotional.
A true water sign and introvert, I feel things very deeply.  And I react with my emotions rather than any form of logic.

:: I can be naggy about plans.
I like to know what's happening and when.  If we're going to hang out, I need to know the details ASAP. I get nervous until I have them.

:: I'm a worrier.
I can take the smallest thing and jump to the worst possible conclusion. In fact, I think that's my specialty.

:: I always have a story ... and I'm a rambler.
I think I can blame this on my writer tendencies.  My brain has stored a myriad of tales that I like to share whenever I'm given a chance ... or when I create a chance for myself.  I still haven't learned how to effectively gauge when people are actually interested in hearing what I have to say.  I'm not good at small talk!!

:: I am a cat lady.
I don't really see this as a flaw, but apparently a lot of people do. I would be rich if I could collect money for every time I've heard someone say they "hate cats" or would never live with someone who has cats.  (Those who are allergic get a free pass on the second one.)

:: I'm self-deprecating.
I poke fun at my flaws all the time. It's a defense mechanism. I feel like I have to say it about myself before someone else says it about me.

So ... there you have it.  I didn't ask my friends for this list.  I'm not sure I could handle their answers (see the emotional section).

Clearly, I'm not perfect, and I never will be.  But I'm me.  And I think that's an OK person to be.

  1. I'm the ultimate self-depracator - is that a word?? probably not! But I totally feel you on that!

  2. I'm the worst about having to make plans! Which is probably how I always end up making them. But I like to know what is happening, when, and where. I've never been one to fly by the seat of my pants that way. Lol.

  3. Nothing wrong with being a 'cat lady'!! I'm a 'dog lady' but it doesn't have the same negative connotations. But I'm more ridiculous about my dog than I've ever seen a 'cat lady' act. And people who hate cats are evil, they're adorable little creatures.

  4. Yes, yes and yes. Minus the Cat lady thing (but no judgments!) I am all of these. Especially the nagging about plans part- I always do this. I'm also emotional and a worrier and I ramble... Even if these are flaws- it makes me like you even more ;)

  5. I am the SAME way about plans. It drives Nate crazy because he's so 'fly by the seat of his pants' and I bug him and bug him until there's a plan set in stone.
