Music Monday: Ben Rector - "Sailboat"

I've always found this song to be heartbreakingly beautiful.
Or beautifully heartbreaking.
Maybe both.

Until recently, I could listen to the song and just appreciate it for its beauty.  But lately, I can relate to the lyrics way too much, so now it just makes me cry.

Even though I've been really busy and constantly surrounded by people who are really important to me, I realized something the other day -- there's no one in this world who really knows me.

There's so much about me that people don't know.  Even those who are closest to me only know bits and pieces.  But no one in my life who knows every hope, every dream, and every fear I have.  That realization makes me feel very alone and disconnected.  And a little heartbroken.  And a little scared that I'll always feel this way.
