>> I've never been the kind of girl who gets checked out or noticed. But I definitely got a nod and smile from a random guy at a stoplight last night. Right after I'd finished running three miles in a 100-degree index. Apparently sweaty and red-faced works for some guys.
>> After the above-mentioned run, I definitely went and had dinner (and beer) with a friend. Because she had a really crappy day. And I rarely say "no" to beer.
>> I am going to a concert tonight. Sure, it's Wednesday, and I have to get up at 5ish every day this week.
>> As much as I love my life and my friends right now, I am in need of some alone time. I have already declared Saturday evening to be a solo movie night. I'm picking out some flicks with eye candy and very little thinking and being a hermit for the night.
>> I feel like I'm fully back in a workout routine (even after just two days). But I have a hard time with rest days. I feel like I need to keep moving or I'll stop.
>> I listened to Matt Nathanson's "Headphones" on repeat for an hour the other day at work. Partially because I love love love the song and partially because I was so busy with my work that I couldn't bother to change the song on my iPod.
>> I really really miss Zumba. I'm trying to find a way to fit a class with my favorite instructors into my schedule, but it's really tough these days.
>> Unexpected perk of my library job: there are some hot dads who come in with their kids. You know I love the eye candy.
rest days are important but they can be active rest days - go for a walk, an easy hike, an easy bike ride. that's what i do to stay moving.

Vodka and Soda
I didn't realize "Hump Along with Vodka and Soda" was a link-up until I reached Kathy's comment--I thought it was just a weird saying like you needed to grab something on Wednesday that resembled liquor. Bwaahahaha
ReplyDeleteToday is my first run in 4 days (because naps were way more important than running for 3 of those days) and I'm sure it's going to be hot as balls outside.. but if there was someone that wanted to give me the "hey girl" nod at the end, I'm sure that would be awesome motivation.
ReplyDeleteA nod and a smile- You go girl!
ReplyDeleteMidweek concert sounds like a good plan to push you through the week!
ReplyDeleteI would never say no to a concert or beer-- sounds like a great midweek pick me up!
ReplyDeleteIt's always nice to get a nod and a smile when you are out running! I can't wait to be able to get out and run some more. Our weather has been pretty awful lately - rain and more rain.
ReplyDeleteGiirrll I had to skip my run yesterday because of that heat and stayed in my air-conditioned gym lol. Eff that noise. Is it fall yet? Primo running weather for me haha.
ReplyDeleteWhat concert did you go to? Sometimes fun weeknights are necessary!
