Another humpday = more confessions

Thanks to all those who agreed I should give up household cleaning after yesterday's post.  I'll have to see if my insurance will cover that.  Otherwise, well ... this girl's on a budget, so I might just have to suck it up for a while.  And just plan to get sick every time I clean.

Anyhow ... time for Humpday Confessions!

Vodka and Soda

---  The other night, I got a friend request from someone I haven't talked to or heard from in more than two years. And the last time we spoke, he ripped out my heart.  Now, I'm not saying I never forgive, but he could have at least sent a message explaining why he wanted to be in touch again.  Until then, this is my response to his friend request:

---  I realize yesterday's post was a giant whine session about being sick.  But this is my blog, so deal with it.

---  After such a good run on Friday night, I was really sad not to get to hit the trails again on Sunday.  Who have I become that I'm sad about not getting to run?

--- I have been itching to bake for weeks now.  Of course, now that I have time to bake, it actually feels like August outside.  But I don't care.  My co-workers were long overdue for some treats, which they're getting tomorrow. I still haven't decided what I'm baking, but baking will be happening.

--- This whole thing in Ferguson, MO, is unreal.  I've seen footage of the riots and I'm watching reports come out about members of the press being arrested for covering the events.  It all seems like something that happens somewhere else ... not in America.

--- I love having the right to vote and be a part of the political process, however I'm already sick of all the political ads on the TV and radio.

--- Sometimes I find myself driving without the radio on.  After spending a whole day on the phone and/or listening to all the chatter around my office, sometimes the quiet is a nice break.

  2. When I realized my "short" runs were 3-5 miles, I wondered who the hell I was. I get upset about not running, too, it's like a sickness. I also completely understand just needing the silence after a noisy day. Sometimes the radio is just chatter that makes me batty and I feel happier just turning it off than channel flipping.

BTW, I nominated you for the Liebster Award http://coraltintedperceptions.blogspot.com/2014/08/the-liebster-award-aka-confessions.html

  4. I used to hate running...would not do it...would not even entertain the idea. I did a couple miles yesterday after not doing it in too long & it felt good to be back at it.

  5. Mmm, cookies. I love them.

And yes, the stuff going on in Ferguson is insane. I don't get how looting is going to help anything, but okay. Craziness.

  7. I was listening to talk radio the other night when stuff was happening in Ferguson and it was just unreal. I got to my friend's house and we turned on the TV and couldn't believe what we were seeing. I'd been hearing stuff has been happening, and I know about the kid that was shot and all, but it was the first time I had actually taken the time to sit down and watch it and I was stunned. What is happening in this country?
