Music Monday: Rachel Platten - "Congratulations"

Rachel Platten's single, "Fight Song" is all over the airwaves.  I've been listening to it for months, and I'm still not tired of it.  It still gives me goosebumps and might even bring out a few tears depending on the moment and my mood.

I'm so happy she's finding success.  If you listen to the song and look into the reason she wrote it, you'll be excited for her too.

I wrote “Fight Song” when I was at a crossroad in my life: on the outside there was a lot of hard stuff going on and a lot of reasons to give up on myself… but through writing the song, I made the decision to not listen to that small mean voice that was telling me I wasn’t good enough. I decided to keep believing in myself no matter what. (source)

Her entire latest EP is really fantastic.  This song, in particular, really hits me.  It's a little heartwrenching because it's clearly about someone who's been hurt, but the defiance in Rachel's voice keeps it a triumphant song rather than a sad one.
