What I'm Loving Wednesday 10/21

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm loving ...

... that today is "Back to the Future" Day.  Sure, it probably seems kind of silly and people are probably tired of the memes. But I find it amusing, and it's definitely a nice break from all the politics and other negative news out there.  I'm disappointed I don't have a hoverboard, but I'm OK with today's fashions instead of what was projected in the movie.

... the unexpected free evening I had last night. I was supposed to have a meeting and a date. Both were cancelled. I probably should have been pretty bummed, but I was actually fine with going home to relax with my furkids.

... "Sounds Like Me" by Sara Bareilles. There will be more on this in my monthly reading recap, but it's sufficient to say I love Sara even more than I did before. And I relate to her far more than I expected to.  This passage was in a chapter of letters to her younger self.  It hit really close to home for me.

... that I was able to make someone's day/night (and maybe more) over the weekend. I bought a sweatshirt at the Matt Nathanson show, which gave me a pass to meet Matt after the show (more artists should do this, by the way).  I was with a friend who wasn't eager to stick around, and I've met Matt a few times. I decided to give my pass to someone else. I started chatting with other concertgoers to find a deserving recipient. I finally gave it to a teenage girl. She started crying (happy tears, of course).  I hope she had a blast!

What are you loving lately?

  1. So awesome to give that experience to that young lady. You go girl!

I also had a friend cancel for dinner last night. I was in pajamas by 6:15 and reading a book all night. Loved it.

  2. Pop culture days are always a win in my book (shocker.) I have Sara Bareilles book on waitlist at the library due to you and I can't wait to read it. I wish more people did meet and greet merch things like Matt Nathanson, that's so cool. And what a wonderful feeling knowing you made that girl incredibly happy and helped her meet an artist she loves.

Some days you just want to go home and do nothing. Totally get it. It's the best feeling ever.

  6. Chris and I went to see the whole trilogy in the theater last night. It was a LONG time to sit in a movie theater, but so much fun!

And that is so sweet of you to give your pass to that girl. I bet you made her YEAR.
