Weekly Reads, Vol. 51

If you're wondering what it's like to attend a World Series game, check out this post by Caryn, which is being hosted over at Bitter Empire. She's one of the biggest Mets fans I know, so I can only imagine what she was feeling during that game. I'm impressed she was able to put it into such an eloquent write-up.

Helene had an awesome response to the woman who quit social media "because it's a lie." While I don't disagree that social media can paint an overly rosy picture of someone's life, I don't think it's a complete lie. I also don't think it's a bad thing to capture happy moments on Instagram or share positive notes on Facebook. Also, the girl ends up being quite the hypocrite, as Helene points out in her write-up.

By the way, Helene will be hosting another webinar this week. This time, she's teaming up with Taylor to discuss blogging, business, and balance. It's the first of Helene's webinars I've been able to try out, and I'm really looking forward to it.

Halloween might be over, but Taylor has a fun round-up of photos featuring dogs in costumes if that interests you. (And it should.)

Meg shared a list of things she is surprised to dislike in her 30s. I will always love donuts, and I've never liked plucking my eyebrows.  But all in all, it's a funny list. And very true.

As I get back into a fitness routine, Kelly wrote a very timely post about expectations and perfection. I need to remember I'm working out for me, to improve myself, and there is no other measure that matters.

Joey lays down some real talk about how people address and treat childless couples. The example she sites really makes me angry. We need to stop defining family as a unit that includes parents and children. Every family looks different and none is better than the other.

Have you adjusted to the time change yet? Bonnie isn't a huge fan, and she offers an alternative solution to the current structure of daylight savings time.  Your thoughts?

Happy Saturday everyone!!
