This & That 12/27

This was Sean and I's third Christmas together. We're still learning how to split time between our families. I never want to short change either side, so it makes for a very busy few days, but it's so worth it. I love both of our families.

One of our new gifts is an Instant Pot. We got a cookbook with it too, but I'm still intimidated by it. Any tips, tricks, or favorite recipes?

I'm bummed that I have to work New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. The former is one of my favorite holidays, but I'm working 13 hours that day, so the highlight of my night will probably be coming home and climbing into bed.

A friend of mine is trying to start a monthly ladies bunco night. I've agreed to participate even though I don't know how to play bunco. Is it going to be hard for me to pick up?

Tomorrow night is an important one -- the Alamo Bowl featuring my Iowa State Cyclones taking on the Washington State Cougars. I'm super excited to make some tailgate foods and relax ... at least until the game starts. Then, I have a feeling there won't be much relaxing.

What's on your mind this week?

  1. I think I got invited to bunco once? Certain groups of army wives get into it but it seemed like a lot of work for a school night (socializing, learning a new game, etc.).
