It's OK ...
... to dread opening my Google Reader after a few days away.
I follow a ton of awesome blogs, and work to keep up with them daily.
But last weekend, I didn't have time to read.
So when I opened it Monday, there were 264 unread posts.
It took me a few hours to get through them.

... to paint my nails three different colors in a week's time.
I have a tendency to start picking at the polish.
So the color doesn't usually last that long.

... to be a little nervous about tomorrow's post.
As I've mentioned, I try to be really open on this blog.
But there are a lot of things I keep to myself.
Tomorrow, I will be a little vulnerable.

... to really want a new car but not a car payment.
My current car (a 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer) runs perfectly fine.
More than that, it's completely paid off.
Sure, it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of a newer car.
But those aren't worth a few hundred dollars a month.

... to have trouble focusing on things I need to do.
I know the cause of it. It's happened to me before.
Sorry for this vague item.
Maybe soon I can share.

... to love the new Rascal Flatts album.
I know a lot of people hate those guys, but they'll always be special to me..
That's how I met Amy, a close friend who passed away six years ago.
And "Come Wake Me Up" and "Fall Here" are amazing.

... to slack on reading.
I haven't read anything since mid-July.
This is not good. I need to get on it again soon.
Maybe when I'm done editing my novel.

... to feel closer to people who live hundreds of miles away than those I see every day.
As much as I complain about technology, I don't know where I'd be without it.
The internet, social media, texting.
I use all of these mediums to meet and stay connected with people who have changed my life.

I hate opening google reader sometimes too. It overwhelms me!

ReplyDeleteI agree, opening google reader can be SUPER challenging sometimes. Plus, I feel like once I start I can't stop because I want to get caught up on everything!
ReplyDeleteI bit the bullet and bought my very first NEW car this week. It was one of those had to be done kinda things but the car payment part is daunting. Part of growing up, I know :)
I'm with you on the feeling closer to people miles and miles away (many of which I've never met!) than people in my daily life. It's the coolest thing.
