What I'm Loving Wednesday

I can't believe it's already Wednesday.  This week is going by so quickly.
I'm perfectly OK with that. I'm ready for the weekend.

I can't believe it's already August either.  Summer is disappearing.
This week's Sunday Social will be all about fall, and I'm so excited about that.

Time to get down to business and link-up with Jamie.

I'm loving ...

... the Fierce Conversations training at work.
I was kind of dreading two days away from my desk (and long list of projects),
but it's been really interesting and eye-opening.
I wish I'd known a lot of these tactics when dealing with conflict in the past.

... the cover concept my friend Meg came up with for my book.
Meg is the best.  She created this all on her own, without any prompts from me.
And I absolutely love it.
I can't wait to actually see it wrapped around the finished product.
Which will hopefully happen soon.

... the characters in the aforementioned book.
I proofread my work for the first time over the weekend.
And I quickly grew attached to the very people I created in my mind.
That might seem narcissistic, but I don't think it is.
I'm of the belief that if your own writing doesn't move you, it won't move anyone else.

... the new lights at our football stadium.
My friend and co-worker, Hannah, captured this photo the other night when they fired up the lights.
Simply gorgeous.
I can't wait to watch a game there this fall.

\\\\////

... people who can discuss political and religious beliefs in a civil manner.
I believe what I believe. You believe what you believe.
Neither of us is wrong. Neither of us is stupid.
And neither of us is going to change the other's mind.
So let's stop with the insults and condescending tone, mmkay?

\\\\////

... this weekend's forecast.
I will definitely be hitting the running trail on Saturday or Sunday.
As long as it's not lightning.

\\\\////

... finding new books to read.
You can sign up through Aug. 5!!

\\\\////

... this new song from Tyrone Wells.
Pretty sure this one is about his daughter. And I like the waltz feel to it.
His new EP is everything I knew it would be.
I love his voice so much, and his lyrics always cut right through me.

What are you loving?

  1. I don't think human beings know how to discuss things civilly anymore. The people who are flipping out over Chick-fil-a?? Oh my gosh. Why do they feel the need to shout it from the rooftops via Twitter?? It's a restaurant. Calm down.

  3. I don't even know where to begin here! Found you on the link up and loving the way you express yourself. I can't believe how uncivilized people have been acting over all the latest political issues...I'm all for a lively debate over what's going on, but the hate and name-calling has been downright ugly.
