Besides, I think Ian enjoys it when I share what's on my mind.
The battle rounds on "The Voice" are possibly my favorite part of the show.
Even though I love the blind auditions to death, the battles are just a bit more intense.
+++++
Speaking of "The Voice," how intimidating would it be to sing in front of all those pros?
Not just the coaches (Blake, Adam, Gwen, and Pharrell), but now the helpers too.
For me, that'd be like showing my writing to one of my favorite authors.
Yikes. I don't know if I could do it.
+++++
Twice already this week, I've had someone on the phone tell me how nice I am.
I do pride myself on being a nice girl and always being polite.
So I appreciated that someone noticed!

I've pretty much been reading nothing but romance novels lately.
That doesn't mean I don't believe in love. I've seen it happen to others, so I know it's real.
+++++
My schedule at my part-time job is changing a bit.
I'll start having Thursday nights free, which is super exciting for me.
Why? That's when most of my TV shows are on -- "Grey's Anatomy," "Scandal," and "Parenthood."
Priorities, people.
+++++
I am super nervous about my half-marathon on Sunday.
How early do I need to get up? What should I eat the day before? The day of?
Will I see a lot of people I know? Will I look dumb? Will I trip on something on the course?
Sigh. My mind is racing with all these questions ... and more.
+++++
I see so many people posting about watching scary movies.
I'm just like, "nope."
"Hocus Pocus" is the only Halloween movie I'll watch.
+++++
Although I also enjoy "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown."
Apparently it's on TV tonight. And, of course, I'm working.
Sigh.
Sigh.
That's all I have for this week.
It takes a lot to open up and I think it's great that you let it all hang out yesterday in your post - I'm sorry if you've received any negativity from what you wrote, that really does suck. Try not to see it as bad though, try to look past it & see if there's any constructive criticism in there that you can use in your life to make it better. Maybe you'll get married, maybe you won't - either way you can still live a fulfilled, wonderful life! Society tells us we need to get married, we have to have 2 kids, the perfect surburban lifestyle to be happy and the fact is you don't need any of that - if it happens, great, if it doesn't you're not less of a person, you're just a person living their life to the best of their capability. You're a great, wonderful person - that's something to be proud of. Keep working on you & things will happen.
ReplyDeleteOkay, race stuff: You are going to fucking fabulous. All the things you are worried about? Totally seem legit (and a little bit they are) but mostly that's just your mind trying not to focus on the fact that you're about to do something amazing, something you've trained for months for, something that once seemed impossible to you - so try not to worry too much about it. Lay your clothes out the night before, drink & eat whatever you've been doing before your runs, hydrate like a mofo these next few days, and just breathe. You won't look dumb. You won't trip. (And if you do, don't worry about it, you're not alone, I've actually done it AND I've come in dead last before - like the cop car was literally right behind me) You're almost there! You're going to do it and I can't wait to cheer you on!
Charlie Brown movies are the best!
ReplyDeleteI have a confession. I've never seen Hocus Pocus.
ReplyDeleteAlso, your race is here already?? That feels like it went so fast! You're going to do great!
Confession: I own the Charlie Brown holiday movies. I'd blame it on being a teacher (because I do show them at school), but I can't pass up holiday movie displays!
ReplyDeleteScott swears by honey on toast pre-race and, if I were you, I'd add PB. Is it a morning race?
I love The Voice, but I've taken a break from watching. I have way too many shows to watch! We DVR everything, and I rarely watch shows live because I'm busy. So I get behind and it stresses me out. The Voice is a big commitment. lol. But I DO love me some Blake and Adam! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you--no scary movies for this chick! I think it's great that you open up like you do, and I have those moments where I can't hold things back, but it's hard to take that step.
ReplyDeleteOn a random side note, where do you find all your gifs?! They are always so perfect!
