Weekly round-up, Vol. 11

I'm probably crazy.

Today is the first day of National Novel Writing Month and where am I?  Not at my computer.

Nope, I'm hanging out with friends outside Jack Trice Stadium.  The Cyclones kick off against the Sooners at 11 a.m., and I'm just praying my boys don't get embarrassed.  Or injured.  That's really all I'm rooting for at this point.  GO TEAM!  Ha ha.

So, yeah, I don't think I'll regret this choice down the line, but I'll definitely have to put in some extra hours a few days so I can get all my words in this month.

Since you're home where it's warm, check out some of these blog posts from the past week.

Sarah at Venus Trapped in Mars hit the nail on the head with "Is this a costume?"  I don't care if women want to dress sexy for Halloween, but at least have the costume make sense.  I don't even know what some of those are supposed to be!

Stephanie at Not Entirely Perfect offered up some great tips on saving money at the grocery store ... and more tips Some of them seem obvious, but they're good reminders.  Others were brand new for me.

Simone at Skinny Dip shared her experiences on eHarmony  I've tried that site and I have to say her critiques are spot on.  I know it works for some people --- I know three couples who met on eHarmony and got married --- but it's just not for me.

My soul sister, Holly at Faith, Hope, and Baseball reflected on things she wished she'd known when she started her first job Word.  She absolutely nailed it.

Kathy at Vodka and Soda ripped apart an article on fitness, and I agree with her on every point.  Getting fit and losing weight is a huge commitment, but some of the "advice" out there is just ridiculous and not realistic.

Steph at Life According to Steph captured my reader/writer/librarian heart when she talked about what some of her favorite literary characters meant to her Love this post.  I might have to steal it and share my own some day.

Hope you're having a great Saturday!
