Fitness goals: A recap and a look ahead

All in all, 2015 was a good year for my fitness goals. I didn't lose any weight, but I didn't gain any either. I would like to see the numbers on the scale and on my running watch go down, so I will keep at it.

These were my plans and goals:
>  Work out 16 times a month, including at least four BodyPump sessions. -- Meh.
I got my 16 workouts more months than not, but I wasn't perfect. And I don't think I got to BodyPump more than eight times all year.

>  Try a new fitness class. -- WIN
I tried spinning and barre last year. I didn't stick with either one long-term, but they're solid options when I want to shake up my routine.

>  Complete 10 races, including one in a different state. -- ALMOST WIN
I did not run in a different state, but I'll keep that on the agenda for next year. But I did complete 10 races.
Here are the races I did:
February -- Virtual 5K
September -- Remembrance Run 5K
December -- Jingle Bell Run 5K

+++++

Here are my goals for 2016:

> Do at least one strength workouts per week.
I'm a cardio junkie, but I really need to do more strength work.

> Once the weather is nice, go on at least two bike rides per month.
My bike has been severely underutilized since I got her last year. There are so many trails I still want to ride. It's time to get out there.

> Complete one race each month, including one race in a different state.
January and February will be tough. So will July and August. But I will figure something out. And I still want to run in a different state.

What are your fitness goals for the new year?

  1. I'm going to be intentional about incorporating cardio again. Like running or spinning or SOMETHING at least once a week.
