Weekly Reads, Vol. 65

Due to the nature of my schedule, I have officially moved this post to Sundays.  I'm sure no one really cares, but I wanted to point that out anyway.

I've had a busy weekend.  I mean, Friday night I went out with coworkers. Many of them are in their twenties, which makes me temporarily forget I'm not.  We kind of overdid it on the fun, so I spent most of Saturday recovering.  Seriously, y'all, I haven't been hungover like that in a long time.  And then I worked Saturday evening.  Today, I work and then have a staff meeting at one of my jobs.

My weekend = poof. Gone.

Here are my favorite posts from this past week.

Joey wrote about doing things for yourself.  It's an important reminder for me because I enjoy doing things for other people, but sometimes I forget to take care of me too.

I share all of Karen's fears and feelings about America electing Donald Trump.  Please, please friends. This man should not be our next leader.

Three words for you = chocolate, Oreos, popcorn. All good words. Why not put them together? Nick and Sarah are fans.

Helene gave me major wanderlust while I was reading her post entitled, "Why I would rather travel than be in a relationship."  Sure, she's married and committed, but I think she makes valid points about going on adventures early in our adulthood. And now I think I need to travel more.

  1. As a minority, the idea of Donald Trump being president terrifies me. My family fought a lot of obstacles to come to this country so I would have the very freedoms he wants to take away. I have always criticized people who say they would leave a country if a certain candidate became president, but now? My husband and I are starting to consider the ex pat life we've always dreamed about a little bit more seriously.

  2. Thank you for sharing my post. I wish it hadn't been necessary, but I'm glad I'm not the only one worried!
