Music Monday: John Mayer - "Love on the Weekend"

John Mayer last released an album in 2013. And if I'm being honest, I didn't even buy Paradise Valley, his last album. I didn't care for it. It just didn't sound like him.

He stepped away from his own music for a while -- appearing alongside Ed Sheeran on one show and playing guitar for the Grateful Dead tour. I kept hearing that he was working on music, but I wasn't going to believe it until I saw it. Or heard it.

And I've heard it now.

He's back. The Mayer that won my music heart is back. His new single is exactly the sound I missed. And it speaks to me in so many ways.

I can't wait to hear the rest of the forthcoming album.
