Stuff & Things 4/6

:: A few weeks ago, the brewery where I work celebrated its fourth birthday. A local artist (and valued customer) usually makes some art for the owners. This year, he did a bonus piece depicting all of the beertenders!!! I loved it so much, I framed it and hung it in my house. Can you find me?

:: Des Moines Performing Arts announced the 2017-2018 season of shows. After some discussion, season tickets were purchased. I can't wait to see these.

:: I fully intend to give you all a glimpse at the new house. Eventually. But I don't feel like we're fully settled yet. There are still a lot of areas that need work. Let's see where I am with it at the end of this month.

:: Baseball season is officially in full swing (pun not intended, but pretty funny!). I took a half day off work on Monday to celebrate the holiday. As luck would have it, Sean's team was supposed to play at 3 p.m., but they ended up getting rained out, and my team played at 6 p.m. I know it won't always be that way. And watching our teams play each other could be an adventure. We'll see if we survive our first full season of separate fandoms.

How's your week going?

  1. That's so cool that the artist did one of the beertenders! You're in red shirt and green pants? Two of my exes were fans of the rivals of my favorite team, but it just made watching and cheering that much more intense! And we always went to the games they played against one another! Haha, good luck!

  2. I think I picked you out on the piece of artwork... Red shirt, raising up beer glass for toast. That is a very cool gift!

Looks like a great touring broadway season! I would really like to see On Your Feet. I saw Hamilton in Chicago and LOVED it! Am looking forward to seeing it again when it comes to Louisville in the 2018-19 season.

  3. Settling into a new house takes so much time...there's no rush! But I am excited to see what you do with the place. I love house tours.

  4. What cool art work! I'm pretty sure I found you with your curly hair.

"Something Rotten" is such a fun show! When it was in previews in NYC, I helped to chaperone my school's drama club trip, and we got to see it! You'll have to let me know what you think. I really liked it!
