Five Questions Friday

I feel like I just did Five Questions Friday.  And I did.  But ... it's time again.  Yay for Fridays!!

1. Do you think cursive writing is overrated? (Schools in Indiana have now voted to take teaching cursive writing out of their curriculum.)

I don't have any strong feelings on the subject.  I think having good handwriting is important and a bit of a lost art with everything being so digitalized now.  I rarely receive real, actual letters anymore.  Even Christmas cards usually come via e-mail (I'm guilty!) and internet these days.  And those that ARE mailed have usually been generated by a machine and contain no actual handwriting.

2. Do you still use a pocket calendar or notepad or do you keep your info on your smart phone?

I keep everything on Nelly -- my smartphone.  I have tried keeping a mini-planner in my purse, but I'm just not as apt to check it or even enter things in it.  It became a waste of space and money.

3. What 3 things would you save if your house was burning down? (family & pets are already safe)

Hmm.  So my furry children are already out?  I suppose I'd grab a few photo albums (counting them as one thing), the blanket I've had since I was a baby and my purse (which would contain my phone, wallet, etc. ... necessary supplies).

4. Country Mouse or City Mouse, err Person?

Somewhere in between, actually.  I love visiting the country (it's good to get away from the noise sometimes), and I love to visit the city (the change of pace is a nice break).  But my ideal place to live is pretty much where I am --- a medium-sized town with enough amenities to be convenient but without all the hassle and headache that comes with a large city.

5. If you could pick ANY reality show to go on, which would you pick?

I think I've posted about this before.  I don't think I would make it very long on any reality show.  I'm sensitive, passive and not at all manipulating enough to scheme my way to the winner's circle.  That said, it would be fun to travel like they do on "The Amazing Race" or go on lots of dates on "The Bachelorette."  "Dating in the Dark" could be fun too.

Five Questions Friday is open to any blogger who wants to participate.  Just head over to this blog for the rules

--------------------------------

I'm actually staying put  this weekend  --- meeting up with a friend tonight and working on my deck with my parents tomorrow.  As much as I've enjoyed all my recent excursions, I am very much a house cat, and It'll feel good to stay put for a few days.

Happy Friday everyone!

  1. I love that you call your smartphone Nelly--cracking up!! And when we had the tsunami warning I grabbed my Miu Miu bird shoes, my navajo blanket and my Bible and headed for the door. It was a moment.
