Honestly though, life has been so crazy. In a good way.

As I mentioned earlier this week, my return to employment has also brought my confidence and self-worth back in full force. This has affected my social life as well. I've had plans almost every night this week. And the next few weeks look like more of the same --- with only one or two nights each week at home. As an introvert, I know the dangers of this, and I will have to work to make sure I have at least one day to myself to recharge. Otherwise, I will not be someone anyone wants to be around.
Even with all this going on, I have managed to get a lot done around my apartment.
My home stays cleaner than it ever did when I was unemployed. Dirty dishes don't stay in my sink very long, and I keep up with laundry pretty well. A few weekends ago, I even did a closet purge, getting rid of at least thirty items of clothing. I have a few more reorganization and purge projects I want to tackle, and I intend to finish them before Labor Day.
I'm also cooking more. Each Sunday, I prepare my meals for the week --- usually something big that I can use for leftovers throughout the week. I also mentally plan my lunches and pack whatever I can in tupperware containers so it's all ready to go in the morning.
It's all about planning, which has become a key piece of getting into my new routine.
I schedule everything --- my outfits, my workouts, and even when I'm going to sit down and write blog posts. Might seem a little overboard, but it's working. I'm getting everything done. Except writing on my novel ... but don't worry, readers, I'm staring to work that into my schedule as well.
It's just crazy. Even though I have more to do, I'm consistently getting more done than I did when I wasn't working. And instead of feeling tired, I only feel invigorated. It makes no logical sense, but I'm not going to question it.

I love my life this way, so I'm just going to keep at it and do whatever I can to get even better.
Do you have a system to stay on top of things when you're busy?
tears are rolling down my face at the thought of never knowing if they make the world series.
ReplyDeleteI'm anxiously awaiting more of your novel. I've decided to not bug you every week about it though. ;)
